Do you know your colleague at work is your new next of kin?

Before you start calling the cops, hold on a bit.

How many hours do you spend at work each day?

For someone like me, i spend an average of 10 hours each day at work.

I actually spend more hours at home because i get to sleep at home.

I spend an hour and half each day in the kitchen and about an hour relaxing before the TV.

Hmmmn, this sharing of hours is sounding a bit scary. I hope you are doing your own calculations.

If you spend so much time at work each day, why do you still find it difficult to get along with some colleagues?

When i say YOU, i don’t necessarily mean you as in you.

It is important we as corporate employees have a very good working relationship with your colleagues. They are the closest people to you known by others.

You spend the longest time with them day in day out, you don’t need to add to your hearts burden by keeping malice with anyone.

Have you wondered why people tag you with your work place? You hear names like “Andrew water department”.

If something happens per adventure, your office will be traced first before checking out your home address.

What i am saying today?

Be a good team player
Maintain a great working relationship with colleagues
Settle differences according to their merits
Live a life of peace always.

Do have a great day.

Much Love and Peppersoup
Francisca.

VALID DREAMS with Francisca, Workers day special edition with Sweet Steve

May 1st is a day set aside to celebrate workers worldwide. We had our own special celebration by coming together to host our own multiple award AOP, Steven Sotanwa (Sweet Steve). It was a mind-blowing strategy analysis and brainstorming session.

We started with asking questions, some of which are:

  1. Why is it that hotels and fun joints around our location lose steam after the first year of opening?

Some of the factors we discovered ranged from POOR STAFF TRAINING, SPRING UP OF SIMILAR OUTFIT, COMFORTABILITY OF MANAGEMENT and LACK OF INNOVATION.

  1. What is the winning strategy of the bestselling bakery in town using Captain Cook Bread as a case study?

Captain Cook came up with a decentralised distribution model. They installed kiosks in every major street in town and delivered freshly baked bread at intervals every day. Captain Cook shifted from SELLING BREAD to SELLING CONVINIENCE.

  1. How did #LafftaUnplugged move from “an idea” to a sold out Comedy Show in Ondo State?

Laffta Unplugged has its success on sacrifice, people and planning. Above all, it has its dependence on God.

We learnt about tips for best prices when shopping in a mall and also strategies behind running promos.

I must confess that I learnt many more things and above all, a new partnership was formed that day.

It was a wholesome experience.

MANAGING WORK PRESSURE – A DAY AFTER THE HOLIDAYS

Welcome to work !!!

A day after public holidays are always hectic. So many deadlines to meet and so many customers to attend to. It is a shift from pleasure to pressure.

A day like today is always characterized with pressure and flying tempers. If you work in a people facing environment like mine, people expect you to perform “miracles” today.

How do you get through the day in one piece?

1. Make up your mind to enjoy your day no matter what
2. Have a cheerful disposition
3. Be organised
4. Eat well ( eat heavy if need be)
5. Apologize even for crimes not committed

6. Share this post

Aiit , have a pressure free day.

HOW TO DEAL WITH OFFICE POLITICS

Hi Friends,

It has been a while I blogged though I have been sending out newsletters. How has it been? This post will be looking at office politics and how to deal with them.

A friend I met online chatted me up some weeks ago as regards a challenge his sister was facing at work. Let me give you a brief:
She works in a school as a teacher(Let us call her Jane). Jane is very passionate about her job and her students so much so that parents now request for their wards to be placed in her class. Some parents make it a point of duty to shower her with unsolicited gifts. The proprietor comes visiting only once in a while as he lives abroad. During his last visit, he called the Jane to his office to give her a stern warning to desist from collecting gifts from parents.Continue reading

THINGS CHANGE BUT REASONS DON’T CHANGE

Do you watch NCIS? I think I am just addicted to the series.

If you are as addicted as I am to NCIS, you will love Gibbs as much as I do.

While watching an episode of the series, Gibbs spoke to me.

10288801_10154032862194596_6926202677939055370_n

I am sure are doubting me right?

Gibbs made two sentences that jumped out at me. It seems as if the script was written  just for me. Those words were like a reset to my brain.

Gibbs said: “Things change but reasons don’t change. It is either you have a reason or you don’t”.[Tweet “Things change but reasons don’t change. It is either you have a reason or you don’t.”]

My favorite part is the second sentence, those words are deep.

I am putting out 2 questions to you.

What is your reason for doing what you are doing?

What are you doing to make sure that circumstances don’t change your resolve?

The answer to these questions will set you on a right footing as you start out this year.

3 things you need to do very fast before 2017

My Dear Wonderful Friend,

This year has been marvelous because I got to meet you. Though I did not send you a beautiful Christmas card, I must confess that I sent prayers to you on 25th.

I took the fearful step of launching this website on 14th of January ,2016 and I am glad I did not allow fear get the better of me. Which other way would I have met you if not through this singular step of mine?

I am grateful to you for being a huge part of my 2016 success story,I DO NOT TAKE IT FOR GRANTED.

3-things-you-need-to-do-very-fast-before-2017

2017 will be with us in a few hours and I need you to do these 3 things very fast before the clock ticks 12.

  1. CELEBRATE YOURSELF: Yes darling, you need to celebrate yourself. You need to celebrate the days you screamed with excitement and the days you danced in the rain. Give it to yourself, you have been awesome in at least one thing this year.
  2. APPRECIATE YOUR SUPPORT SYSTEM: Do you think you did it alone? Truth be told, you did the major job but then, what if the refuse collector decided to go on strike for two week? Imagine how filthy your home will be. It is time to acknowledge your best hands. Send a thank you note or place a call across to them, it is important.
  3. BE OPEN TO FORGIVE: You never know the weight of the burden you carry until you let go of a pain in your heart. Anger and resentment is breed where there is hurt and pain. Please let go and forgive that one person that has hurt you so much. It is not the easiest thing to do but I bet you, you will be better off afterwards.

This is me, wishing you an awesome 2017.

Much love and strawberry

DO YOU KNOW IT IS NOT EASY TO WIN?

My dear friend,
It is truly not easy to win. I now understand what Muhammad Ali meant when he said:

“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life”.
WHAT HAPPENED?

On December 3rd, the day of my VALID DREAMS with Francisca event, every thing already planned went wrong.
Nothing went as planned and it got to a point that I was trying all my best to keep calm and not burst into tears.
I considered cancelling the event but I had a rethink.

dec-3-valid-dreams
How about the lives this event will touch?

What happens to the people who will move in leaps and bounds to their dreams? How will I handle those precious people who will get the push by listening to my words?
With these thoughts dancing in my ears, I moved to the side of courage. I took the risk to win.
I went ahead with the event and it was worth every second and more.
It was impactful and I even got to dance during my last presentation. (I am a good dancer o. If you are in any doubt, get the recording by clicking here).
To crown it all, I got a gift of a book.
I was all smiles afterwards. The day ended well.
WHAT DID PARTICIPANTS HAVE TO SAY
We had a great time. Thank you Francisca Nnadi-Ogunlade continue to bless more lives. – Olufemi Iroko

Its definitely a step in the right direction and am very sure the next edition would witness an even greater number in terms of attendance. Your hustle is legit, the drive is superb and the last ingredient is for us participants to start giving testimonies to the efficacy of the brewTunde Ariyo .

My dear friend, great steps are always like this. In order to win, you have to be on the side of courage and take the risk.
Remember also that it is not about you, it is about those waiting for you.[Tweet “Remember also that it is not about you, it is about those waiting for you”] Much Love.

Francisca
